To make this work, I applied ink to a glass plate and, in some instances, wiped it off to create abstract forms and printed the image onto a piece of paper. Then, I positioned the “ghost” of the initial image in different places on the paper so that layers of the same pattern in a lower intensity overlapped the original image and gradually built up the image. The process of using ghost prints emphasized that not only the application of ink, but also its removal, can shape a composition.
